Seven creative ways to use a T-connector with EMT Conduits

An EMT T-connector is a fitting used to join together three pieces of conduit. It is most commonly used when two conduits need to be joined together, but this connector has other creative uses. Here are seven ways that you can use an EMT T-connector:

1. To create a three-way junction box, use the T-connector to join three pieces of conduit together. This can be useful when connecting multiple wires or cables in one location.

2. As part of an extension cord: If you are working on an outdoor project, such as a landscape lighting project, you can make your extension cord using EMT conduit and T-connectors. Simply attach two pieces of conduit, then use a T-connector to join them to a third length of the conduit. Then wire your extension cord as you usually would. Now you can run power to those hard-to-reach places with ease.

3. As a cable tray, One of the reasons conduit is so widely used in commercial construction is that it can be used to hide cables. If you are working on a home project and want to run wires behind the walls, you can use the EMT conduit as a cable tray. Simply thread the wires through the conduit, and you have a neat way to run cables.

4. As a cable bushing, When you have to pull or push a wire through something, you will often see a rubber or plastic tube used as a bushing. You can use this same idea when using conduit. If you need to pull the wire through a tight area, slide a piece of EMT conduit over the wire. The conduit will act as a bushing and protect the wire from getting damaged.

5. As a cable tray, As mentioned previously, an EMT conduit can be used as a cable tray. This is an excellent way to do it when you need to run cabling behind the walls or other home areas.

6. As a cable protector, the chances are high that they will get tangled up and twisted when you have a long run of cable or wires. You can prevent this by covering them with an EMT conduit and then covering the conduit with plastic carpet tape. This will prevent the wires from getting tangled up.

7. As a cable organiser, cables that need to be run across the ceiling can quickly become tangled and twisted. This is another excellent way to prevent this from happening.
